About the Coach

I graduated from Penn State with a degree in Kinesiology, and went on to get my masters degree in Youth Development Leadership from Clemson University. I’ve called several different universities home, including: Maryland, Illinois, Clemson, Towson, NC State, and Penn State.

My family has joined me in moving around in the university setting, and now we are making South Carolina our home again. I currently serve as Head Strength & Conditioning Coach at Easley High School in South Carolina.

For my athletes, I want to be the mentor I needed when I was younger. For young coaches, I want to be the coach I needed when I was just starting out on this path.

About the Blog

I am not an expert in the field of strength and conditioning, but I have learned a few lessons so far — namely lessons about humility, hard work, and the power of building and maintaining strong relationships.

I started writing to be the voice I wish I heard when I was getting started. I’m one of many voices in the strength and conditioning community, and I’m grateful to be surrounded by so many coaches that have invested in my growth. My career, and this blog, owe a lot to my peers and mentors. This blog is my way of paying it forward.

How did an Asian guy end up as a strength coach? It’s on the blog.
